This company is a diversified travel conglomerate in the Travel Industry for over 25 years.

OVERVIEW

This position is accountable for the overall Marketing of various Travel Products. Company may opt to engage candidate as a Director and within 3 months promote to VP title.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing Strategic Marketing Concepts
  • Researching available venues.
  • Develop a realistic budget and with approval proceed accordingly.
  • Will supervise and work closely with in-house as well as outsourced graphic, web, and advertising agencies.
  • Must have good relations with travel trade magazines, editors, reporters, etc.
  • Will work in concert with VP Sales and other team members.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years in Travel Marketing
  • Strategic ability to effectively work with a high-level product team
  • Strong familiarity with European Travel Products and Cruises
  • Expertise in developing marketing plans
  • Familiarity with co-op funding development
  • Strong familiarity with consumer and trade travel publications and other media
  • Highly skilled in tracking sales performance
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills
  • Strong Website knowledge (not as developer)

REPORTING

Reports directly to COO. Will be a Member of the Executive Team.

EDUCATION

The preferred candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or University; or 15+ years or related experience and/or training; or equivalent of education and experience in the travel industry business.

While performing this job, it will require:

  • Eight (8) hours or more a day of sitting; walking; standing; bending; answering the telephone; entering data into the computer; retrieving data from the computer or analyzing data from reports.
  • This position may require overnight travel up to 40% (including travel by car and by airplane).
  • Must have a valid driver's license and willingness to fly on an airplane.
